09/22/2016

The film is based on the novel by Penelope Fitzgerald and is a co-production between Spain and the United Kingdom.

The Bookshop, Isabel Coixet's new movie, tells the story of the intrepid Florence Green (Emily Mortimer), a determined woman who wants to carry out the dream that she and her recently deceased husband shared: open a bookstore in Hardborough, a quiet English village, away from the social and sexual revolutions of the great urban centers. Green, with the help of Christine, a girl who hires as an assistant, rehabilitates an emblematic house of the village, which will upset the locals. And all this fuss, why? Florence Green will bring, among others Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Lolita, Vladimir Nabokov. The shooting is taking place between Belfast (Northern Ireland) and Barcelona.
